HRCx provided commissioning services for the Yorkdale Shopping Centre East Expansion, designed by MMC International Architects. Building upon our role as mechanical consultants for this project, the 298,000 ft² expansion by Oxford Properties Group involved an extension of the existing mall, and the provision of a ground floor platform for the new Nordstrom store, complete with a new Nordstrom Court connection to the mall. The project opened in the third quarter of 2016.
Conestoga Mall is regional shopping centre located in Waterloo, Ontario with over 130 stores and 5.5 million annual visitors. The HIDI Group provided mechanical and plumbing design for the redevelopment of a former Target store and two other major tenants within in the mall.
This project involved the demolition of existing services, new common areas, and coordination of base building services to suit new over 20 tenants including Indigo, Sportchek, Shoppers Drug Mart.
HRCx provided commissioning services for the base building HVAC system. This ensured that the mechanical equipment was functioning as required in the design prior to the tenants occupying the retail units.
10 Dundas East is a 333,000 ft² mixed-use retail, commercial and entertainment hub located in the heart of Toronto’s downtown core. Owned and operated by Bentall Kennedy, the facility is adjacent to the bustling Dundas Square and Toronto Eaton Centre. It is composed of office space, movie theatres, shops, restaurants and a gym.
HRCx provided commissioning expertise and worked closely with the Owner and Operations team to save energy and bring systems to original design intent. This included the initiation and utilization of Building Analytics to identify occupant comfort and energy issues, the provision of ongoing commissioning, and the launch of an energy dashboard to facilitate responsive operations and optimized tenant experience.

HRCx is provided ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit with Metering for the 50,000 ft² open air retail plaza.
The Level II Energy Audit and Metering assesses the buildings energy cost and efficiency by analyzing energy bills and conducting a brief on site survey of the building. The Energy analysis identified and provided savings and cost analysis of low cost/no cost measures.
Our team was also able to provide a listing of potential capital improvements, costs and savings.
