University of Toronto KSR Facilities Master Plan
Located at 17000 Dufferin St, King City, Ontario, the University of Toronto’s Koffler Scientific Reserve Facility Master Planning aims to provide a new LEED® / Net-Zero facility which includes flexibility, private accommodations, shared social, dining, and learning spaces for researchers, students, faculty, and visitors, in a field research and teaching setting that is currently not available at KSR or any other of the U of T campuses. HRCx is providing commissioning services for the KSR Facilities Master Plan. Our team’s scope included the administering the commissioning process for Envelope, Enhanced, Monitoring-based Commissioning, and Fundamental Commissioning.
The project is targeting net-zero-carbon, net-zero-energy performance LEED Gold Certification following LEED v4 and is targeting 6 points under the Enhanced Commissioning process, for which the team is preparing and compiling the commissioning-related LEED v4 documentation. Both mechanical and electrical systems, building automation and controls and life safety will be commissioned in addition to Photovoltaic and renewable energy systems.
